Carolyn Schaffer is an attorney at Thorburn Law Group, LLC and specializes in cannabis tax and general business matters, as well as cannabis litigation. Carolyn has done a significant amount of research into the history of cannabis legislation and is very knowledgeable about the industry. She has helped draft some of the most influential briefs and petitions in our published cannabis cases, including the Standing Akimbo v. United States petition for writ of certiorari. She has working relationships with state and federal tax agents and authorities and is very intuitive and passionate about what she does.

Carolyn obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, her Master of Science in Legal Administration degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Economics degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two boys, and german shepherd.
